Why am I still spotting for three weeks?

I had started birth control pills on doctor's orders. I had gotten a full period on October 5th, 2009. It lasted a whole week. After that, I had gotten none. I had a high amount of male hormones until I started the birth control. On June 5th, 2011, I had started spotting. It is now June 20th and I am still spotting. Can anyone explain why? My mother still has not gotten a call back from my doctor and she called on June 15th or around that time. I would appreciate any help possible on this matter because it is really worrying me. I have to wear liners everyday because sometimes at night or during the day it will smudge the liner or my underwear if I forget.
