Advice for my hiv positive bestfriend...?

My bestfriend was diagnosed with hiv two years ago and now the strong relationship he used to have with his father is basically non-existent. He comes from a fairly affluent family and his dad is ashamed of him. It hurts me to see him so upset over the lost relationship. what/if anything can I do to help out my friend's situation with his father?
